So I’ve been neglecting my journal as of late. As always there are good reasons (read: excuses) for that. Namely, I’m no longer a police officer for Seattle’s police department.
I was offered a position of judge at Seattle’s Court House. It has been my plan for a while now that when I grow older and wiser I’d become a judge. Granted I’m still not old, or even that wise, but still I couldn’t let such an opportunity pass by.
So for the past few days I’ve been settling in my new job, and so far I must say that I like my job. It’s not as active as being a police officer. There are also no night shifts. But those are really good things I suppose for an old man like myself.

Life has been quite busy lately, but don’t worry I’m not planning on abandoning this blog. Quite the contrary, I’ve some ideas on what to write about already, so it’s only a matter of taking some time for them and writing them down.
Oh yeah, I’ve been working on and recently finished the second version of Popmundo Facebook application. What’s Facebook? Facebook is a social networking webpage, pretty much like MySpace but I like to think that it’s better for multiple reasons.

What’s Popmundo Facebook application? Well it’s a simple application that let’s you show off your Popmundo characters to your friends. It shows some basic info about your character, along with a picture and the recent diary entries.

I’ve been a police officer in Seattle for a while now, and even longer in other cities. While most of the time the work is quite tediuos and boring, there are some moments which bring a smile to your face.
As many of you may know, you can hide in apartments from police (not from SWAT though), but what happens when a criminal tries to hide in an unlocked apartment? Fun times. And it has happened more than once to me as well, people just don’t check if they locked the door, and just log off. Easy arrests.
And of course then there’s the hitchhiking criminals, who go to a travel route and log off without checking if there are any police officers on duty. Sometimes you just have to love them for how easy they make things. If only there were more of them around who did things like this.
But anyway, time to get back to my patrol.

Jeanne and I have finally decided on what to name our newborn daughter. It’s usually a process that takes us at least a few days, and after some long talks we’ve decided on calling her Mei. Our little family isn’t so little anymore, and I’m sure it will grow some more.
In other news I’m back in Seattle and have been spending a lot of time with the family. Police job is very quiet lately with most criminals being outside of Seattle and thus falling into the jurisdiction of Special Agents.
So yeah, Seattle is quiet little city, but that’s the best kind of of city anyway.

So I’m back in Europe, taking a short break to attened the wedding of Aafke Dijkstra and Sidney Wing. I’ve known Aafke for a while now, and this wedding is something that I really didn’t want to miss. And I do wish the best for them both.
I must say though that I’m starting to get really frustrated with all these wedding invitations. It’s not that I don’t want to go to them, it’s just that none of them take place in Seattle.
In fact most of them take place in Europe, so I have to be out of town for almost two full days usually.
On top of that, I just got informed that there’s a club on fire in Seattle, that people need to be cured, and that there might be a crime spree going on soon, and there’s nothing that I can do about any of those things from here.
Frustrating.

I’ve recently added another page to the site. And that’s the Band Banner page. It has some of the band banners that I’ve created over the course of the last few years (mostly from the last two months though).
If you like what you see and would like me to create a banner for your band then just send me (Björn Nywald) a PM.
Keep in mind that I don’t charge anything for these, so it’s on first come first serve basis, and also that I work on them when I have too much free time.

Sometimes things change quite quickly in the world. And this is just one of those things. Previously you only really needed to talk to the media early on in your career and then your shows and records would eventually take over and speak for you and your band.
But now it would seem that isn’t important anymore, and that you’ll have to keep track of your media coverage. So it’s time to brush up on your media manipulation skills, and maybe learn a thing or two about being a true spin doctor.

Looks like we’ve settled in just fine in Seattle. And I finally have a respectable job again. Started working as a police officer for the Seattle Police Department. So far I’ve been pushing the nigh shifts, but someone has to do them.
Prevent crime, enforce the law and support quality public safety by delivering respectful, professional and dependable police services. That is what they taught us at the police academy, and that is what we do.
And I must say, even though I have the night shifts mostly, it’s been great so far. I really love my job. What more could one want?

I’m gonna do it! I’m gonna marry Jeanne Collins!

And she agreed. I’m the luckiest man ever.

So much that still needs to be done for tomorrow, and so little time. I better hurry up and make all the preparations. Tomorrow is going to be a big day. A life changing day even.
